I’d like to go ahead with the work, what’s the next step?

Please feel free to contact us for a site assessment and estimate - call 07930 276 037 or email us. We will measure the area and provide a free estimate based on your chosen design.

What areas do you cover?

We work from Dundee but cover areas including Fife, Perth, Blairgowrie, Forfar, Arbroath and Cupar.

How long will it take to complete?

Every job is different but we try to keep the timescale to a minimum depending on weather conditions and material curing times.

Does the weather affect your ability to work?

Yes, if it's raining then we are unable to work also if the temperature drops below 2 or 3 degrees the ground becomes unworkable.

Do you need the use of our water?

Yes, an outside tap is desirable but not essential; we may need access if power tools are required.

Do I need to be in while you are working?

No, we can complete all work whilst you are out.

Will there be a skip outside my house?

No, skips are not used, therefore no skips left for days or weeks outside your property. All material is removed by our own vehicles.

Will there be a lot of mess?

We keep the mess to a minimum but there will be some mess at various points during the work. We clean up at the end of each day keeping the job safe and tidy.

Do I need to tell neighbours about the work being carried out?

We do recommend talking to your neighbour prior to starting the work. This can prevent problems arising.

Do you do supply materials without being contracted?

No, we will only supply materials for the work contracted.

Can you be contracted without supplying the materials?

Yes, however this is generally for commercial contracts, there are terms and conditions.

When and how do I pay?

We generally take payment at the end of the work unless the job is particularly big, we accept BACS, cheque and cash.

What make of Monoblock do you use?

Our standard monoblock is made by Marshals as it comes with a 10 year guarantee but we can also supply any make or colour of monoblock.

How do you prepare the ground for the new driveway?

All driveways are excavated to the correct depth. Ministry of Transport Type 1 hardcore is laid and compacted with a vibrating plate to form sub base to the correct levels.

Is the monoblock "no maintience" ?

We recommend cleaning driveways, patios and paths every 12 months. If you opt to seal your driveway, Acrylic sealants last up to 4 years. This is a guideline only and dependent on age and condition of driveway/patio.

Do I need to have the monoblock sealed?

No, sealer is used to seal and stabilise sanded joints and to protect the surfaces of the paving from dirt, oil and stains but is not necessary. We do however offer a cleaning and sealing service if you require it.

Is the wood supplied for fencing treated?

Yes, all of the timber we use is treated although we do recommend painting your fence after a year.

How do you put the fence posts in the ground?

We concrete all fence posts into the ground.

What If the ground is sloped, will the fence be stepped?

When installing fencing on a slope, we would not recommend a fence panel. Instead we would recommend a "hit and miss" or palisade style fence.

Do I need planning permission for fencing?

Generally no, only if the fence is over 2 meters at the rear of your property and over 1 meter at the front of your property.
